Eternal Spring Exhibition Opening

March 27, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Artist Matt Hollis exhibits a new series of “petals on canvas” in Eternal Spring. These bold, graphic works are each comprised of hundreds of fake flower petals, sewn into layers on fabric and mounted on canvas. The assemblages condense the allure and sensuality of nature and represent the power that both art and organic forms have to mesmerize and attract the viewer.

Light refreshments will be served and music provided by The Cosmic Edge.

Matt Hollis is a mixed-media artist working primarily in abstract organic-inspired soft sculpture. He has lived and worked in his studio in the historic O Street Studios in Washington DC for over ten years. He has a BA in Fine Arts from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He has exhibited works ranging from wall hangings to large-scale installations in numerous galleries throughout the DC area. He recently received a grant from the DC Commission of Arts and Humanities to travel to France for an artistic research trip sponsored by Transformer gallery. His full artistic resume is posted on his website, enoughforall.com.
