To merely refer to Shelly Bell as a curious and talented consumer of life’s most positive energies would only tell half of the story. She was recently named one of the trending 40 New Power Women in Tech by DCA Live, she is the Google Digital Coach for D.C., a board member at the BEACON DC and the Founder of Black Girl Vision – an organization dedicated to creating access to capital for women of color entrepreneurs. Black Girl Vision was nominated for an the Global Leadership in Equitable Development award by the 2017 World Trade Credit & Risk Summit.

She also is an award-winning performance poet and author of “All Women are Stupid Sometimes” – a contemporary tale of what women endure for love. Her poems have been published for academia in Critical Articulations of Race, Gender, and Sexual Orientation which examines the relationship between race, gender and sexual orientation. Shelly has an essay published in “Our Black Sons Matter,” a collection of essays that examine the mother’s role in the current racial climate of America. She has also published articles on music, arts, and culture as a contributor for Brightest Young Things, Brooklyn Bodega, and Straight Razor Hip-Hop. Shelly Bell is unquestionably an extraordinarily gifted artist, engineer and social entrepreneur, mixing uncommon honesty with a populist style. Her unflinching desire to remain honest to herself and her aspiration makes her personal motto entirely true. “Regret Nothing Write Everything!”
