Jordan Fosheé’s Dream Domain, presented by Anacostia Arts Center Powered by Wacif and Art To Go-Go
Washington, DC, 3/5/2024 – Dream Domain, a captivating new art exhibition, is now open at the Anacostia Arts Center, showcasing the brilliant talents of emerging illustrator and painter Jordan Fosheé. As a native of Anacostia, Fosheé’s work is deeply rooted in the vibrant energy of his community, offering viewers an immersive experience into his dynamic artistic vision.
Featuring fifteen original pieces from Fosheé’s collection, Dream Domain is a mesmerizing exploration of movement and the ethereal energies that surround us. Fosheé’s distinctive style, characterized by his affinity for inks, takes center stage, captivating audiences with its depth and emotive power.
Born a Washington, DC native, Fosheé’s passion for art has permeated his career from his time at York College of Pennsylvania to studying at Mount Gretna School of Art where he secured 2nd Place in The Fine (Art) -ist, 2023 Senior Exhibition at York College of PA, and the prestigious Best Drawing award. Other notable accolades include his commission from Nike in January 2024, inspired by Nike’s Black Community Commitment, a testament to his growing influence in the art world.
Foushee’s latest exhibition is a dynamic exploration of movement and energy, drawing inspiration from the vibrant pulse of contemporary life. Reflecting on his journey as an emerging fine artist, Foushee emphasizes the importance of community recognition and local support by nurturing artistic talent. “My acceptance of the show is rooted in the belief that people should receive recognition from their own communities,” he asserts. “They shouldn’t have to leave the city to grow because we’re full of opportunities right here.”
Dream Domain is open to the public until 4/7/2024, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Fosheé’s visionary world. The exhibition is made possible by Wacif and The Anacostia BID’s Art to GoGo program, reflecting a commitment to fostering local artistic talent and community engagement.
